Measles claim 22 lives in Jhang in two months

JHANG: Measles claimed one more life in Jhang district, taking the death toll to 22 in last two months.

The measles is rapidly spreading in district but the health department is not paying heed toward the issue.

At least three children died in Mohalla Mustafabad due to measles in last six days, while 4-year old Hassan son of Tabassum resident of Phool Lines area died in a private hospital.

As many as 22 children have died of measles in last two month in Jhang district mainly due to health department negligence. The health department as usual has failed to launch any awareness program about the disease.

The citizens have demanded of the government to take immediate action to check the spread of measles in the district.
