'Snow White' trailer raises eyebrows over movie casting

Snow White’s trailer starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot has sparked criticism over the film's casting.

The Disney's live-action is a remake movie, based on the animated classic cartoon film, which is about a young girl who is tricked by an Evil Queen who wishes to be the fairest of them all.

Apart from Zegler and Gadot, the live action, which is set to release on next year on March 21, also stars Andrew Burnap, and Ansu Kabia.

Since the trailer has been released, many social media users have reacted to the casting of the film which is in stark contrast to Disney’s original movie.

Most of the fans were irked by the casting of the titular character, played by Zegler with one user posting, “I really hate to say this but i hope they keep her white. No actress deserved to go through the vitriol & racism halle, rachel zegler and any other actor of color have went through. It’s clear the companies won’t protect or defend them so it’s really not worth it esp for their mental health (sic).”
