Beyoncé just received an accolade for her contributions in the country music genre!

After previously being quite famously snubbed from the Country Music Awards (CMAs) despite having a wildly successful album of the genre titled, Cowboy Carter, the Billboard Music Awards have now honoured the rather decorated pop star, with a country music award on Thursday night.

The Single Ladies hitmaker bagged the trophy of the category top country female artists, beating contenders Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson.

Apart from that, Beyoncé, also famous by the title of Queen Bey, also received nods in the categories of top dance/electronic artist and top country album, where she lost the accolades to Charli XCX and Zach Bryan, respectively.

Despite this being her first win in the country genre, with respect to her entire career, this award marks Beyoncé's 17th Billboard win of all time.

This win at the Billboard Music Awards has garnered the iconic star, Grammy buzz in the genre of country music where her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, released on March 29, has garnered 11 nominations in multiple categories.
