Nikki Glaser made the jokes of her life during The Roast of Tom Brady in May, and became an overnight success. So much so, that she felt like she was Taylor Swift.
“It was a life-changing performance. One of those things that you’re sort of like, you just never think it’s gonna happen but everything changes after. The next day, I was in line places and seeing my face on people’s phones,” Glaser, 40, said during her appearance on latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“I felt like Taylor Swift for a couple of days. I felt that level [of fame],” Glaser jokingly said.
Glaser’s comedic talent was on full display during the roast, and she went on to book the hosting gig for the Golden Globes on January 5, 2025.
“Life changed after the roast,” she said of the roast. “A theater tour, numerable dates on my tour, which is so fun.”
In the roast, Glaser targeted Brady’s divorce with model Gisele Bündchen, saying, “You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”
However, after the roast, reports suggested that Brady’s ex-wife was offended. The former NFL quarterback then went on to say: “I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way that affected my kids. So it’s the hardest part about, like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way, and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that affected, actually, the people that I care about most in the world.”
Nikki Glaser responded to his comments in July during her appearance on the Fresh Air podcast, saying, “In terms of Tom Brady … because he said yes to it, it’s kind of like, unless you tell me things are off limits, I’m going to go there. I have license. I have your consent. … I can’t believe the places my mind will go to.”
