Madonna just sparked controversy via Artificial Intelligence.

The popular Queen of Pop came under scrutiny as well as criticism after she uploaded AI-generated images of herself with Pope Francis.

Taking to her official Instagram account, via the app’s Stories feature, the Pope could be seen getting rather feely with the Material Girl singer, with his face quite close to her.

This might just be taken as fun poked by Madonna towards the Catholic Church amid her ongoing clash that begun almost three decades ago.

Underneath the images, she wrote the caption, “Going into the weekend like...” Additionally, the 66-year-old pop star, beneath the picture of Roman Pontiff with his arm around her waist, penned, “Feels Good to Be Seen......”

In the pictures, Madonna, who has also previously thrown shade at the religious figure in his own backyard while she was on tour in Miami last year, wore her signature style, a busty corset and multiple layers of jewelry.

Fans were quick to react to the Frozen crooner’s posts, with one user writing, “Why would she do that?” while another addressed the weird context of the picture, inquiring, “Why is he sniffing her?”
