Jennifer Love Hewitt returns for ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer' reboot

Jennifer Love Hewitt has confirmed her return in the upcoming reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer.

On Friday, Hewitt took to Instagram to post a photo of herself looking in the mirror with the movie's title written all over it.

Sharing the surprising news with fans, Hewitt wrote, “It’s never too late to go back.”

“Julie James is returning. I know what you will be doing next summer!@IKnowWhatYouDidLastSummerMovie,” the actress and producer added.

Fans flooded the comments section with their excitement. One wrote, "OMG YES. MY GIRL JULIE." 

Another added, "Wow super excited!!!!! Thank you for coming back Julie!!!"

Hewitt played Julia James in the 1997 slasher film alongside Freddie Prinze Jr., who is also returning for the new version.

It is worth mentioning that Hewitt teased her possible return recently on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

She said, “can't say much, I’m not officially in it yet, but I’m close.”

“It’s going to be really good. They have an amazing young cast that’s in it. I’m hoping to come back as the ghost of '90s past, and we’ll see what happens,” The Tuxedo actress added of the reboot.
