It appears that an I'm A Celebrity star is set to take over as Gregg Wallace's replacement on MasterChef after the show faces a shake-up amid his sexual misconduct investigation.
According to The Sun’s report, a former I’m A Celebrity star and food critic, Grace Dent, will replace Wallace on the show.
The same outlet reported that BBC is expected to announce the news next week.
The 51-year-old Dent often illuminated MasterChef with his appearance as a guest judge, and now, he will present the show with long-time host John Torode.
For the unversed, Wallace left the BBC show after 13 people, including Newsnight host Kirsty Wark, accused him of inappropriate behaviour during the show’s recording.
The claims span 17 years and include accusations of walking around on set naked, making inappropriate jokes, and two incidents of groping crew members.
Notably, on Saturday, December 14, a source told Daily Mail that the alleged judge accepted his “defeat” and acknowledged his career was over following the investigation into claims of s***** harassment and groping.
The insider revealed by saying, “Grace is the perfect choice to replace Gregg on MasterChef.”
It was also shared that Wallace is "quite reflective and pragmatic" regarding the investigation and has said he has "had a good run and done well for a bloke who was basically a greengrocer."
It is significant to mention that Wallace started his own fruit and vegetable business in 1989, which earned him the nickname "Gregg the Veg" from friends.
