Selena Gomez recounts tearjerker moment from 'Only Murders in the Building'

Selena Gomez has cried while filming the comedic murder mystery Only Murders in the Building.

Gomez recently opened up in an interview with Saoirse Ronan for Variety's Actors on Actors series.

The Emilia Pérez star recalled a monologue that moved her costar Steve Martin to tears.

"It was a scene — that's gonna make me cry now," she said as she held back tears.

She continued: "There's a scene where my mother in the show says a little bit about my past and how I've been a bit troubled. The actress who played the mother had my mom's name, so when people would call her name on set, I'd always turn thinking, 'That's my mom.'"

The said scene belongs to the first season of Only Murders and features a monologue from Mandy Gonzalez who made a cameo as Silvia Mora. The monologue centered around Mabel’s past, with Mora telling Steve Martin and Martin Short to not involve her daughter in their investigations.

"She said this beautiful monologue that was very much what my mom would say," the Wolves hitmaker said. "I was crying so much that I made Steve cry too because he was like, 'Are you okay?' I was like, 'I miss my mom!'"

Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short play Mabel Mora, and in Emmy-winning Only Murders in the Building.
