Elton John is sure about what he wants on his gravestone, and it’s not a nod to his great music career.

Elton was recently TIME's Icon of the Year, and as he reflected on his achievements in life, he said being a good husband and father is what he wants to be remembered for.

“On my gravestone, all I want it to say is, ‘He was a great dad,' ” the Cold Heart singer told Time in an interview alongside his husband David Furnish.

The icon shares two sons, Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, with his filmmaker husband.

John shared a similar sentiment when speaking with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts in an interview that aired on Dec. 11.

"My music speaks for itself," Elton said. "My legacy is that I was a great husband and an even better father... The music, the career is fantastic. It's been mind-blowing, groundbreaking. But the most important thing to me in my life is making sure my children are happy, they have a wonderful life and that I was good to them. That's all that counts."

Elton John married David Furnish in 2014 after first entering a civil partnership on December 21, 2005.
