Squid Games 2 star spills Marvel character who would do well in series

Squid Games 2 star, Hwang Dong-hyuk, reveals which Marvel character, in his opinion, could win the deadly competition.

Speaking as the show’s season 2 premieres in Los Angeles on Thursday, Dec. 12, Hwang tells PEOPLE that Iron Man could be a contender for the show.

“Iron Man — without the suit,” Hwang says, referring to the character of Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr.

Hwang then adds that the series would have a different set of games this time.

"There were some [games] left over from the list of games that I had thought of for season 1," he says. "So at least for season 2, it wasn't as hard to come up with the new games."

This comes as ‘Squid Games 2’ has managed to earne a Golden Globe nomination in the best drama series category.

"They gave us a nomination even before it come out," Hwang says. "So it was a big surprise and big compliment. I'm so happy. I cannot be happier."
