Yvette Nicole Brown and Anthony Davis are a married couple!
The Community star, 53, married Davis in an "intimate, classy and fun" wedding on Saturday in the presence of 200 guests at The Maybourne Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.
Brown recalls having no reluctance when Davis proposed. The actress was most excited about the "special" moment when she walked down the aisle with her brother Paris, who filled in for her father who has Alzheimer's disease.
However, Davis surprised Brown by arranging to have her father attend the wedding in coordination with his care facility.
The couple initially met in their twenties as friends. They lost touch for a few years but then reconnected in 2021 when Davis reached out following the death of Brown's mother.
"My brother and his sister stood in," Brown said of the void left by Davis' parents' demise.
Brown also spoke of the first time she ever tried on a wedding dress was actually for an episode of Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh, in which her character, Helen Dubois, gets married.
"First of all, I'm not that kind of chick to cry because I look beautiful … I was crying because I was like, 'This may be the only time I'm in a wedding dress.' And to realize that all these years later I was wrong and that I get to have my bridal moment as well, and my happy ending as well, it's amazing," she told People Magazine.
For her walk down the aisle, the actress chose a modest, mermaid-style gown designed by Ines Di Santo. This marks the second marriage for Davis and the first for Brown.
