Nicole Kidman has opened up about the poignant last words her mother, Janelle, shared with her before passing away in September at the age of 84.
While speaking on CBS Sunday Morning over the weekend, the 57-year-old actress revealed the heartfelt advice her mother gave just before she boarded a plane.
In regards to this, Kidman shared, “'The final words my mama said to me were, ‘Maybe wait a minute, because you just need to take care of yourself, Nicky,’” while adding that the message stayed with her ever since.
Moreover, the Babygirl star noted that she has embraced her mother’s advice and is now making self-care a priority.
Additionally, she said, “I'm doing that more, and I say it to others—especially women. We often care for everyone else, but the last person we take care of is ourselves.”
According to Daily Mail, Kidman also recalled another piece of family wisdom, sharing that her grandmother’s parting words to her were, “Be happy.”
Meanwhile, Janelle’s passing was a significant loss for Kidman, who returned to Sydney in September for the funeral.
Furthermore, the emotional period coincided with Kidman receiving the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival in Babygirl.
It is worth mentioning that the challenging year has reportedly prompted discussions between Kidman and her husband, country singer Keith Urban, about returning to Australia.
