In the finale of Yellowstone season five, the neo-western drama paid an emotional tribute to one of the series' cast members who died recently.

He was Bob Avila. In the last episode, a message appeared at the start, stating, "This episode is dedicated to Bob Avila. See you down the dusty trail, Amigo."

Regarding his connection with the hit show, the late actor starred as a guest appearance in season 3, episode 8 titled I Killed a Man Today.

In the episode, he went with Kevin Costner's John Dutton to shop for horses and shared his expert opinions on the animals.

The actor died on November 9. He was 72. The Yellowstone star was also famous for horse riding. He twice earned the title of the World's Greatest Horseman and was in the National Reining Horse Association’s Hall of Fame.

Before the Yellowstone finale, Luke Grimes, one of the series' key stars, joked that fans' reaction to the ending would be divisive.

"At the rate we're headed, I don't think they're going to be satisfied with anything. [Laughs.] Some people will realize that it was very well written and well executed. But a large part will just be mad that it's over, which is fair," he hilariously told Esquire.
