Kevin Jonas recalled the time of the Jonas Brothers’ breakup in 2013, revealing that "ego" played a role in their split.
Ahead of their upcoming 20th anniversary, Kevin and his wife Danielle Jonas spoke to People about their collaboration with Lowe’s for the holiday season.
Kevin discussed with the outlet how their band split and after its reconciliation in 2019 their dynamics have changed.
“The thing about us, which I think is really fun, is there's no rules,” Kevin said referring to his brothers’ solo projects.
Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas, who are also bandmembers, have worked on their own projects in the past and Joe is currently working on new music too.
He went on to say, “I don't know, I don't want to speak for Nick, but there's definitely no rules in what we can do. Anyone and everything can do music and then we can do it together and we can do it separate.”
“I think that's what's so dynamic and cool about us. And there's not like ego involved. I think there used to be, and I think that's what broke up the band. But now we've come back, and it's just like, whatever works for everyone,” Kevin explained.
Moreover, he talked about his future projects including reprising co-hosting in Claim to Fame for the fourth season, he hinted at his own solo music, “It just has to be the right thing. I've always talked about it, and talked about doing something, but it just hasn't been the right time for me yet.”
