Kelly Clarkson finds peace after leaving Los Angeles with her kids

Kelly Clarkson's big move to New York City in 2023 was the "best decision" she made for her family.

The songstress relocated with her two children, daughter River and son Remy just before the fifth season of The Kelly Clarkson Show was renewed for seventh season in December 2024.

"The move to N.Y.C. was a fresh start for her that she has never regretted. She had not been happy in Los Angeles for a while but was still nervous about moving. It was the best decision for her though. They thrive as a family," an insider told PEOPLE magazine.

Additionally, they shared that Clarkson is currently in "full holiday spirit" adding that she is "beyond grateful for her fans."

"She feels very fortunate to continue her career in a way that makes it possible for her to balance work with being a mom. She’s very appreciative of everything," the insider added further.

Previously speaking to the outlet, Clarkson, who got divorced from Brandon Blackstock in 2022, said that leaving Los Angeles helped her regain her mental health.

Clarkson said she spent time in Los Angeles "very depressed" and "really needed the change."
