Prince Andrew’s decision to step back from the Royal Family Christmas celebrations would not bail him out of the latest humiliation, says an expert.

The Duke of York, who Ibas been linked to a Chinese spy threat to UK national security, has opted out King Charles’ annual Sandringham dinner.

Speaking about how this is not a long term solution for the Royal, expert Polly Hudson writes for Mirror: “Creating scandal after laughing stock after disgrace, all piled on top of each other to form a wobbly tower that will eventually topple over, destroying everything in its wake. If that’s not the case – and let’s face it, stranger things have happened but it does seem pretty unlikely – then this latest business with Andrew is just… exhausting.”

She adds: “He’s been falling from grace for decades now, and every time it appears he’s finally reached rock bottom it turns out that was a fake floor, and there are even lower depths for him to plummet.”

“But this time there is actually a twist. Whether this is simply the last straw, or he’s finally learned his lesson, he’s showing uncharacteristic self-awareness and swerving the Royal Family Christmas celebrations,” notes the expert.

“Just in case it’s that, let’s clearly state for the record: NOPE. Most of us hoped we’d never see his face again three controversies ago, never mind now.

“There will be no comeback, no re-invention, no revival. You’re done, Andrew. For good,” says Hudson.
