Prince William clashes with King Charles over vision for monarchy

Prince William is at odds with father King Charles over his vision for the monarchy, an insider revealed while exposing the power struggle behind palace’s closed doors.

According to a Royal insider, William is challenging Charles’ lifelong plans for his reign as the Prince of Wales is eager to modernize the monarchy.

Speaking with New Idea Magazine, the source revealed that William has made it clear that he wants to do things differently as he wants to prioritize his family mental health unlike Charles.

“Charles’ lifelong plans for his reign are already being eclipsed by William’s fresh plans,” the source said.

“William is already preparing for his ascension. Like his father, he takes being a success in the royal role very seriously,” they added.

Citing a report by Us Weekly, the publication further revealed that the “dynamics have shifted” between William and Charles.

“Charles has wanted to be the monarch for decades. Even though he’s battling cancer, he’s not letting that get in the way of his desire to be a dynamic leader,” they said.

They continued: “Charles is a workaholic – he has accumulated over 500 royal patronages that he and Queen Camilla support.”

The insider went on to add that William has made it clear that he will always prioritize his wife Kate Middleton, and kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

“He’ll also take on fewer patronages too and focus on causes most important to him and Catherine, like environment, mental health, and homelessness,” the source added to New Idea.

“William doesn’t want to waste money or time on fringe projects. He wants it to be earmarked for his homeless projects for example.”
