KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police, Shahid Nadeem Baloch has issued directives to senior police officers to revisit /update the election security plan in the light of possible security threat to contesting candidates, political and religions leaders, and the general public.
He issued the directives after a blast in Swat on Sunday in which leader of a political party was killed, said a press release.
He stressed upon special vigilance at airports, railway stations, bus stops and all exit and entry points of the city and the province as a whole.
All exit and entry points must be manned with well-equipped and vigilant police officials, he emphasised.
He asked the senior police officers to ensure effective picketing / patrolling in their respective jurisdictions and also to check deployment of police personnel from time to time.
