Disney takes big step ahead 'Win or Lose' release

Win or Lose featured a transgender storyline, which Disney has cut after explaining concerns from parents.

Pixar — owned by the company — has an upcoming animated series that follows Pickles, a co-ed middle school softball team playing to get into their championship game.

The eight-episode show is the animated studio's first long-form series, and it will show each character’s life off the field in the run-up to the finale.

However, THR reported that Disney made the decision months ago to remove the reference to a character’s gender identity.

Insiders close to the production told EW that only a few lines of dialogue have faced the axe, and the character is present in the show overall.

“When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline,” the spokesman shared.

Disney+ will debut Win or Lose on Feb 19.
