Yellowstone producer Christina Alexandra Voros believes Kevin Costner's character, John Dutton, would be on his way to death even if he had stayed.

During an interview with The Post, she said, "I think Taylor always knew where the story ended. I think Kevin's departure may have changed some of the how, but none of the what."

"When you have created an emotional arc that is draped on the shape of a family legacy that is being upheld by the strong patriarchy, it's almost Shakespearean – the death of the king," the film's executive concluded.

In other news, Luke Grimes, who played Kayce Dutton, said he did not have a chat with Kevin, who was his on-screen father in the show, after his departure from the series.

"No, I haven't talked to him since It's not a case of any hard feelings or anything; its just, he's Kevin Costner," he told Men's Health.

Concluding his feelings for the Academy winner, Luke said, "He's a big deal. I do have his phone number—I just don't feel like it's my place to reach out. He can reach out to me if he wants."
