Courteney Cox shares exciting news of reprising her famous role

Courteney Cox has shared an exciting news of reprising her role in in Scream 7.

Initially, the news of the actress, who played the role of Gale Weathers in the hit horror franchise, returning for the seventh installation was revealed by her close source to Variety.

Later, the official Scream movies Instagram account confirmed the news via their Story by re-sharing the article and including a link.

However, just two-and-a-half months ago the Friends actress said that she had not officially signed on to the project even though it was confirmed to be in the works.

While sharing her thoughts on returning, the 60-year-old told the same outlet earlier, “I’m not officially signed on. I’m not, but there will be a Scream 7.”

Courteney also noted that she was “excited” that Kevin Williamson would be directing the film — his first in the beloved franchise.

“You can’t get better than that choice. It’s going to be fun,” she said of Williamson, who was a screenwriter for the 1996 flagship film.

It is to be noted here that aside the original film, Courteney has returned in all other Scream releases, including 1997's Scream 2, 2000's Scream 3, 2011's Scream 4, 2022's Scream and 2023's Scream VI.

Moreover, the details of plot and cast of the upcoming slasher film has been kept under wraps as per now.

Until now, Scream 7 is said to be released on February 27, 2026.
