The shocking cliffhanger of Virgin River season 6 has teased a tragic twist, but hidden clues suggest there may be more to the story.
Throughout Virgin River’s six seasons, the show focused on happy endings rather than tragedies.
The show is about Mel, a nurse practitioner who relocates to the town of Virgin River in North Carolina from Los Angeles to start fresh, where she receives a friendly welcome.
As the story progresses, the story witnesses some deaths, like Sarah’s and Mark’s, but most of the sad storylines did not end in tragedy.
In the story, Charmaine has been the main problem for Jack and Mel’s love story since the start of Virgin River.
Her lies kept Jack and Mel apart for two seasons, and she too ended up getting pregnant from a one-night stand with a man named Calvin, who is a local gang leader.
At first, she makes Jack believe he is the father of her twins, but it is revealed near the end that Calvin is the real father.
This makes her an important character who is now closer to Mel and Jack and makes the tragic ending hinted at in Virgin River season 6’s cliffhanger.
In the sixth installment, she welcomed their help in her fight for sole custody against Calvin and offered her hairdresser services for Mel on her wedding day.
Charmaine’s disappearance when she should have been at Mel’s wedding party worried Mel, but when she messaged her saying something came up, it made the bride get worried.
At the ceremony, Mel reminded Jack and the public that Charmaine did not show up at their wedding, also mentioning that she was fighting Calvin for sole custody of their twins.
Surprisingly, when Charmaine stopped answering everyone, Jack went to check on her, but the ending of Virgin River season 6 did not show what he found, but his shocking expressions were captured.
This strongly suggested that whatever happened to Charmaine was related to the Virgin River villain from seasons 1 and 2.
It is significant to mention that Virgin River has been renewed for season 7, but there is not even the release window for the next season.
