Zoe Saldana 'thrilled' for THIS upcoming milestone

Zoe Saldaña would be achieving another career milestone!

At the London Critic’s Circle Film Awards, the iconic Avatar star is set to earn the honorary prize of the platform, for her contributions in the entertainment industry.

This would mark the Guardians of the Galaxy actress being the second recipient to receive the honour that was named in memory of the late critic Derek Malcolm. Previously, the award was earned by Colman Domingo.

In a statement, Saldaña stated, "I'm honoured and thrilled to receive the Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation from the London Film Critics' Circle, a group I greatly admire and respect.”

"This has been a wonderful year for film with so many striking and indelible roles for women. To have had the opportunity to work in this industry for 25 years has been a privilege and to perform the role of Rita in Emilia Pérez has been the opportunity of a lifetime,” the 46-year-old actress further mentioned.

For the unversed, Zoe Saldaña is set to receive The Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation at the 45th London Critics' Circle Film Awards on 2 February, 2025, at London’s May Fair Hotel.
