Meghan Markle's friend of almost two decades, actress Janina Gavankar, has shared the exciting news about her project being nominated for prestigious Emmy Awards.
Janina was quite vocal in support of the Duchess of Sussex when Meghan told TV legend Oprah Winfrey of her struggles while working as royal family member. It was the first interview Meghan and Harry gave after stepping down as working members of the royal family and left the UK.
In response to Meghan's interview, the Buckingham Palace had released a statement which said “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Meghan and Harry.” the statement read. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
Reacting to the royal family's statement, Janina said on UK's "This Morning" program and said, “Though their ‘recollections may vary,’ ours don’t because we lived through it with them,” Gavankar said, quoting directly from the Palace's statement. “And there are many emails and texts to support that.”
Janina on Friday said that Ghee Happy, an animated series in which she worked as a narrator, has been nominated for an Emmy.
Taking to her Instagram stories she wrote, "Gee Happy is one of the projects I'm the most proud to be part of."
