Daddy Yankee just settled his lawsuit with estranged wife, Mireddys González.
The couple has reached a private agreement after alleging in legal filings that González had made unauthorized withdrawals totaling up to 100 million dollars, from two of his companies.
Yankee, who rose to stardom with his upbeat 2004 hit, Gasolina, informed reporters that he was “very calm” with respect to the matter, while arriving at the courthouse in San Juan.
Wearing a classic tuxedo, the rapper and singer mentioned, "These things happen.”
Billboard magazine reported of Yankee, who devoted his life to Christianity in 2023, that he had reached a partial agreement "in good faith" with his estranged wife, during a court hearing.
After private conversations, Daddy Yankee and Mireddys González have reportedly agreed that the artist would be becoming the president of both El Cartel Records and Los Cangris, effective on December 26.
After the hearing, it was also reported that the Despacito singer told the press, "I have always respected Mrs. González, and I ask that you respect her as well."
It is pertinent to mention that Yankee and González were high school sweethearts who tied the knot in 1995 and share two children together. It was confirmed earlier this month that the couple would be divorcing each other, ending their 29-year-long marriage.
