Phil Collins shares sad health update after spinal injury

Phil Collins has shared a rare update about his health after experiencing a spinal injury.

In his new documentary, Phil Collins: Drummer First, the legendary musician and drummer revealed that he wants to play the drums, but years of rocking and rolling has taken its toll on his hands.

"The drumming has taken its toll on my hands (and) leg,” said the 53-year-old.

He further said, “I’ve spent all my life playing drums. To suddenly not be able to do that is a shock.”

“If I can't do what I did as well as I did it, I'd rather relax and not do anything,” continued Phil. “If I wake up one day and I can hold a pair of drumsticks, then I’ll have a crack at it.”

"I just feel like I've used up my air miles," said the singer, adding that not being able to play is "still kind of sinking in a bit."

For those unaware, Phil rose to fame as part of the British rock band Genesis before releasing his solo hits like Stranger Like Me, In the Air Tonight, One More Night, and You'll Be in My Heart.
