Sir Rod Stewart is set to bring a personal touch to Glastonbury 2025 as he is reportedly planning to showcase his 1,500 sq. ft. model railway station at the festival.
The rock star, confirmed as the first act for the coveted Legends slot on the Pyramid Stage, is considering creating a mini version of the festival as part of the display.
According to The Mirror, Rod’s close friend and fellow train enthusiast, Jools Holland shared, “He can’t bring the entire set because it’s enormous, but he’s planning to bring a station building. He might even create a little ride-on railway that loops around Glastonbury – from the Healing Fields to the jazz tent and back to the Pyramid Stage.”
Moreover, Rod’s passion for railways has been a lifelong but previously low-profile hobby.
Earlier this year, he admitted that his love for railway modeling once conflicted with his rock n’ roll image, but he is no longer embarrassed by it.
In fact, he recently transported his 900ft track and intricate layout, dubbed the “Grand Street & Three Rivers Railroad,” 5000 miles from Los Angeles to Essex, hiring three giant shipping containers for the job.
As per Daily Mail’s claims, Rod’s dedication to the craft is evident as he spends hours in his California workshop, perfecting the layout, which he describes as “like entering the gates of heaven.”
