A royal expert has revealed that late Queen Elizabeth’s ‘rock’ has become a ‘secret weapon’ of King Charles in the royal family.

Following the death of Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth reportedly considered Duchess Sophie her "favourite daughter-in-law", with their bond so strong that she was dubbed the monarch's "rock."

Reacting to Sophie’s role in the Firm after she appeared with King Charles on Christmas Day, royal expert Katie Nicholl told OK! Magazine: "Now, more than ever, we're seeing what a vital cog Sophie is in the royal machine. People say she is the 'secret weapon' within the monarchy."

Katie Nicholl further said, "She's always there at pivotal moments to help steady the ship. She's seen as a very safe pair of hands."

The report further says Sophie has proved particularly valuable during King Charles' illness, with Nicholl noting: "He definitely values Sophie's loyalty and all her hard work very highly."

About the success of Sophie in royal family, Katie said: "One of the secrets of Sophie's success is that she is so understated and willing to be in the background without overshadowing anyone. She just gets on with the job and doesn't bring any trouble with her.”
