Tom Cruise has reportedly been hunting a fresh face to play a role of Ethan Hunt.
The Hollywood actor has been the face of the secret government agent Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible franchise movies for more than 25 years.
The source close to the Top Gun actor told Sun magazine, “Tom is keen to give Mission: Impossible a fresh take in the next two films and wants to explore a bit of Ethan’s past.”
Also, the insiders reflected upon that the 62-year-old actor has appeared in eight franchises of Mission Impossible, including his upcoming Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
“They’re going to start looking for a young star to take on the role and they will appear a bit in the next film and then more in the ninth,” the source added.
Moreover, they revealed that the story of the ninth and tenth series will show the early life of Hunt.
“It’s very important to Tom that they get the right person. They are seeking a youngster who is completely fresh on the scene and will cause a real stir.”
Before concluding, the insiders shared, “It’s a huge role but the hunt is on to see if they can find a young Tom Cruise.”
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is scheduled to be released in cinemas on May 21, 2025.
