Babygirl director has opened up about a particular scene from the film starring Nicole Kidman.

Halina Reijn revealed that the scene where Kidman’s character drinks a glass of milk offered by her younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson, while at a bar, was inspired by her real-life experience.

In an interview with W Magazine, Reijn shared that she had a similar experience in her 30s when a younger actor sent her a glass of milk at a bar.

Calling it “sensual” and “funny” Reijn recalled, “I drank it, and he just walked out.”

“I thought, ‘How does this guy get the courage?’ I did think it was a very sensual thing to do. And I thought it was very funny,” she added further.

Previously, Reijn also addressed criticism of the film’s age-gap romance between Kidman and Dickinson, saying such relationships should be normalized for women.
