Lily-Rose Depp hopes to maintain privacy as she finds herself getting famous.
The actress, 25, opened up about her needs as a fast-growing talent in a recent interview with The Daily Telegraph.
“Every job comes with a set of circumstances and this [fame] is kind of one of them,” said Lily-Rose who recently starred in the horror-remake Nosferatu.
The actress continued, “The importance to me has been to maintain a sense of, like, privacy and grounded-ness and to protect [what] really belongs to you.”
Lily-Rose, who is the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, also reflected on the ugly side of fame.
“People are interested in things that they shouldn’t necessarily be interested in,” she told the publication.
“The job of an actor is to go into a character and, like, melt into it — and make the audience believe you are this character,” continued Depp. “In order to do that, it’s important to protect a sense of anonymity — they’re not supposed to get to know ‘you’ that well, ‘cause you want them to believe you as other characters.”
She made her first appearance on the silver screen in the 2014 film Tusk.
However, she originally shot to fame after her performance as a pop star in the 2023 HBO show The Idol alongside The Weeknd.
The actress also added that her selection criteria for roles which she picks “depends on where you’re at in the moment,” noting that she also opts for versatility.
“I’ve always been interested in taking on roles that feel quite different from each other,” the actress told the outlet. “For me, it’s like a new challenge to dive into another world.”
Lily-Rose has also starred in Yoga Hosers (2016), Planetarium (2016) and Silent Night (2021),
