Miranda Hart goes down memory lane about her secret wedding

Miranda Hart, who secretly got married at 51, went down memory lane about her hidden love affair that turned into a lifetime commitment.

Finally revealing the details of her wedding to husband Richard Fairs, Hart in an interview with Radio 3 show Private Passions, revealed, “We sang it at our very small wedding. 'Initially, it was, like, 'Are we really going to do this? It's such a naff idea.”

According to the now 52-year-old comedian-actress, the minute everyone started singing, people got so emotional and were really going for it with the beauty of the song.

She added, “Now it just makes me cry, and makes me think of the happiest day of my life as well.”

The Emma actress also opened up about “giving up” on the idea of ever tying the knot before meeting Richard.

“It makes me think of the recent joy of getting married, which I had sort of given up on the possibility of, and also the young me dreaming,” she said.

In the end, Hart expressed, “I've always been a dreamer. It's very emotional.”

Earlier, this year, Miranda Hart announced that she got married but did not reveal her husband's identity until her appearance at Cheltenham Literature in October 2024.
