George and Amal Clooney have been married for a decade, but the 10-year union is set to face a "big test," sources say.

Because, they shared, the Batman star is for the first time tapped to play a Broadway show in the United States for a period of six months.

“George has never done Broadway before, and he’s thrilled about the opportunity, but between rehearsals and performances, it means he will spend six months in NYC,” the source told Life & Style.

The issue here is the couple will be separated for a couple of months - this long-distance - insiders warn, may not bode well for the duo.

“Amal is going to remain in France, where their two children are settled in — and there’s no denying this is going to test their 10-year marriage," the tipster tattled.

In the wake of the Oscar winner's latest work assignment, the source shared the couple will work out different ways to stay connected.

“They’re going to stay in touch over FaceTime and text,” the mole squealed. “George will be able to speak to the kids every night before bedtime, taking the time difference into consideration. And Amal might be able to fly out for the occasional weekend visit.”

"But the truth is, in the past, when jobs have kept George and Amal separated, it didn’t do the marriage much good,” the snitch revealed. “So spending so much time apart is bound to be challenging.”

However, the insider also added that the pair is seemingly strong, “George is telling Amal and the twins that he’ll be back home in no time at all.”
