Netflix has shared insights into casting Leonardo DiCaprio in Squid Game Season 3.

On January 1, OSEN, a Korean magazine exclusively shared the news, “Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio will be appearing in the Netflix mega hit Squid Game 3.”

“Filming has already been completed, and he is said to make a surprise appearance in Season 3, which will be released this summer.”

“It is said that the amount of screen time will not be long, and the exact character, etc. are being kept under wraps due to concerns about spoilers,” as per the outlet.

Previously in 2022, during the press conference for winning Emmy awards, the director Hwang Dong Hyuk said, “Leonardo DiCaprio said he was a fan of Squid Game. Internally, we even joked, ‘Should we make an offer?’”

However, Netflix has debunked the rumor about a bingo card entry of DiCaprio in season 3 and their representative released a statement to Soompi.

It reads as, “The rumours are completely false. Reports of Leonardo DiCaprio’s involvement in Squid Game Season 3 are entirely unfounded.”

Recently, Squid Game’s Instagram unveiled the poster of season 3 and also introduced a new giant robot doll named Chul-Su.

For those unversed, Squid Games Season 2 is the first most viewed series that racked up 68 million views in its first week of release.

Squid Games Season 3 is scheduled to be released in 2025.
