Kristen Stewart, Steven Yeun explore love beyond humanity in 'Love Me'

Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun explore post-apocalyptic love in upcoming film, Love Me.

Directed by the beloved couple, Sam and Andy Zuchero, the film follows two robotic entities discovering love in the world without humans.

Stewars plays a buoy floating in the ocean, while Yeun a satellite orbiting Earth. As they interact, the two adapt human names Deja and Liam.

"As they learn what life was like on Earth, they discover themselves and what it means to be alive and in love," reads the synopsis.

According to PEOPLE magazine, Zucheros stated about the film, "We wanted to make a movie that would make you feel big and small at the same time. It’s the story of two completely new beings — the A.I. in two machines — who evolve into virtual avatars and then into flesh and blood humans."

They shared that with Artificial Intelligence inheriting our planet, Love Me is "really a love story about us."

"It's about how distant we feel right now and how everyone wants so desperately to connect. Love Me became a mirror for who we pretend to be and who we really are," they added further.

Love Me, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, is scheduled for release on January 31.
