Dan Wootton, a renowned British journalist, has lashed out at Meghan Markle after the Duchess of Sussex made a come back to Instagram on the first day of 2025.

Mr Wootton, who is known as a staunch critic of Meghan and her husband Prince Harry, accused the former US actress of trading off her royal title "she has no more  right to use."

Commenting on Meghan Markle's video, he wrote on social media: "The decline of Meghan Markle is a tragicomedy. Five years since Megxit, she’s completely given up on any pretence of changing the world or even raising awareness for good causes. Simply back to being an Instagram influencer trading off a royal title she has no moral right to use."

The Duchess of Sussex is living in California with her husband Prince Harry and two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The couple stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and have signed a multi-million dollars deal with Netflix as part of their efforts to live financially independent lives.

Speaking at an event in New York last month, Prince Harry made it clear that he has no intention of going back to the United Kingdom.

In another interview, he revealed that his family has made absolutely no effort for reconciliation.
