Rescue sources confirmed the death of one person in the blaze.
At least seven fire tenders had reached the location, close to Ghani Chowrangi in SITE area, and were being used to douse the flames on the lower floors of the building.
Our correspondent at the location said that several people were still present on the fourth floor of the building.
