Meghan Markle appeared to have hinted at her next move as she left her fans surprises with her return to Instagram on New Year's Day.
The Duchess of Sussex created a new account and dropped a playful video to mark the beginning of the new year, possibly filmed by Prince Harry.
While the move has divided royal fans and critics, expert Richard Fitzwilliams said it "makes perfect sense" as Meghan prepares to launch new business ventures, including a Netflix cookery series and lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.
“It makes perfect sense to post the video to signal a new year which will lead to more activity,” he said of Meghan’s social media debut.
“There is a link between her cookery series for Netflix which we should be seeing soon, and her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, which has trademark issues and has been delayed,” the expert told The Express.
“This should prove financially beneficial as should her Instagram posts if sponsored. She already has over 100,000 followers including some big names, but is currently following no one.”
This comes after a pal of the Duchess told Page Six that Meghan would shine the next year after having spent major chunk of 2024 working behind the scenes.
"As far as Meghan being quiet, she’s been in the background working on her entrepreneurial efforts. Both the Netflix project and her brand will come out within the same timeline in the New Year,” they said.
“It’s going to be a good year for Meghan specifically, she’s spent the majority of the year doing work behind the scenes to launch a project in the first few months of 2025.”
