Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have finally broken silence on rumours of pay gap between the actors in movie Wicked.

For the unversed, Ariana was rumoured to be paid significantly more than Cynthia for the musical fantasy film.

Now revealing their contract truth to Variety, the Wicked stars discussed the “rare” step they took in order to ensure that they were being compensated equally.

According to the 31-year-old actress-singer, they went through the contracts together and called each other up.

"Did you see that? What do you think about that? Let’s get it together!"' said Ariana, who plays Glinda in the Broadway adaptation.

Joining her, Cynthia, who plays the role of Elphaba, told the publication, “We both went through it – ‘What number are we doing? How do you feel about that?’ We were really f***ing honest. And that’s really rare. People don’t do that.”

While complimenting her costar, Ariana, who also starred in Leonardo DiCaprio starrer Don't Look Up, said, “We’re very different, but when we’re doing something like this together, her needs become my needs.” To which the 37-year-old actress added, “And her needs become mine.”

Moreover, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo starrer Wicked has officially become the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation in global box office history.
