Andrew Garfield remarks on cinemagoers apologizing for getting emotional

Andrew Garfield says cinemagoers should be able to express emotions without feeling bad about it.

Andrew shared his thoughts after learning that a woman who saw his new movie We Live in Time in the cinema cried a lot and apologized to people around her.

The Never Let Me Go actor said it’s a “shame” that cinemagoers can’t enjoy a movie and express emotions without feeling apologetic about it.

“That someone would feel that they had to apologies,” he told The Guardian. “I think that speaks to a cultural thing that we have, particularly in the UK, where outward expressions of emotion are deemed somehow inappropriate or shameful.”

This comes as The Amazing Spider-Man star recently revealed if he’ll feature in Tom Holland's upcoming Spider-Man 4. When asked about it by GQ UK, he replied, “I’m gonna disappoint you.”

"Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on,” he added, referring to the time he denied he was in Spider-Man: No Way Home even though he was.

In the 2021 movie, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider Men joined Tom Holland in fighting off a major threat in the climax of the movie.
