An acclaimed British actor, Stephen Graham, recently revealed how he achieved his impressive body transformation for a new boxing drama.
The 51-year-old Hollywood star showed off his new body after bulking up for his role as a boxer in A Thousand Blows on Disney+, and his wife, Hannah Walters, was especially happy with how he looked.
While having a conversation with British Airways’ High Life magazine, the 50-year-old Walters expressed her feelings, saying, “I've known this man since he was 19. And, let me tell you. I'm very happy with the results.”
On the other hand, Graham also shed light on how he transformed his body for his character while shooting the drama.
The Irishman actor shared, “I turned 50 during filming, but it's the fittest I've ever been. And probably the best I've ever looked.”
Graham went on to explain that he built his muscular body after hours of tough training at Premier Gym in Leicester, and the hardest part was not the heavy lifting but changing his diet.
The Immortal Man star stated, “It was a four-month process to reach peak condition. We did it all properly. I had blood tests. My diet was laid out.”
He added, “I followed my workout plan to the letter. I'd smash the gym four times a week doing heavy weightlifting, with boxing training on the other three days.”
“It was a lot but extremely enjoyable. The hard part was the food. I was constantly eating to bulk up. Loads of whey, carbs, and protein. Three thousand calories per day. It's difficult to cram that much down you,” Graham concluded.
For the unversed, the star of Peaky Blinders is set to depict the role of the fighter in a new drama, Sugar Goodson in A Thousand Blows, which Stephen Knight wrote.
It is noteworthy to mention that the show will premiere on Disney+ on February 21, 2024.
