Nicki Minaj has been slapped with a lawsuit by a former employee for assault, and battery back in 2023.
As reported by Billboard, an accuser named Brandon Garrett, alleged that the 42-year-old rapper “physically attacked him during an altercation” in her dressing room following a concert in Detroit on April 21, 2023.
According to documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, her former manager also accused the Barbie World rapper of causing him “intentional infliction of emotional distress”.
According to Garrett, he was working as a day-to-day manager on the rapper’s Pink Friday 2 tour when Minaj, whose real name Onika Maraj, allegedly physically attacked him over having another tour employee.
He also mentioned the reason behind his anger, stating that he asked hospitality manager Luke Montgomery to pick up Minaj’s prescriptions in his place because he was occupied with other tour responsibilities which made the Super Freaky Girl rapper “visibly upset” and she “angrily screamed” at him.
Things escalated quickly when angry Minaj upon not being answered properly by either Montgomery or Garrett, ending up slapping the latter.
The suit further states that her former manager then later after landing in Chicago, filed a police report against Nicki Minaj and requested cops to escort back to his hotel "because he feared for his safety".
