Netflix's Squid Game Season 3 release date revealed

After waiting for more than three years, fans got to watch Season 2 of hit Korean show Squid Game on December 26.

According to Variety, they won't have to wait much for the third season 3 of the drama.

Netflix on January 1 announced that the third installment of Squid Game would be released in 2025.

"I probably expect that to launch around summer or fall next year," creator Hwang Dong-hyuk previously told Variety in December 2024.

Speaking to Variety, Dong-hyuk said that Seong Gi-hun will be at a very "critical crossroads" in the third installment following his risky decision to launch a rebellion.

 Hwang Dong-hyuk told Reuters in October that  a third edition of the Korean drama was already in post-production, and hinted an English-language version may be in the offing too.

The first season of "Squid Game" became Netflix's most watched series of all time when it was released in 2021.

Hwang went on to win an Emmy for outstanding directing for a drama series, while Lee Jung-jae scored a best actor in a drama Emmy Award. Both were the first Asians to take home those titles and the first for a non-English language series.
