The star of Made in Chelsea and the founder of Candy Kittens, Jamie Laing, has opened up about his fears of starting a family with his wife, Sophie Habboo, despite both of them wanting a baby.

On a recent episode of his podcast, Great Company, Laing was interviewed by his producer, Jemima, where he voiced his fear about having kids.

The 36-year-old TV personality said, “I would really like to have one, but it has been a real long road because I was really scared of babies and I was really scared of commitment.”

“The idea of not being able to escape something, with work or even divorce, there's always a way out. But with a baby there's no way out. There is no way out because you are committed to that little human forever and that for me is really quite scary,” he added.

“Still really scary, it is a real fear. To the point where at the start of last year, Sophie thought she was pregnant and I had to leave the restaurant because I was so stressed.”

Laing shared, “Firstly, that is not a good partner. It made me really nervous, but also made Sophie really scared because as a partner you want someone secure and relaxed, and it made her feel uneasy."

He noted that he would hate seeing his wife in pain, quipping, “I really don't think I am going to handle you being in pain.”

It is pertinent to mention that Laing and Habboo tied the knot in April 2023.

Notably, the couple organised their first wedding ceremony in London, while the second one was in Spain three weeks later.
