Treason case against Musharraf: Kasuri criticizes judiciary
ISLAMBAD: Ahmed Raza Kasuri, counsel for former president Pervez Musharraf has said that all the people who backed the ex military ruler in abrogating the Constitution should also be tried under article six of the constitution.

He said that 14 judges of the higher judiciary took oath of office under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO) whole Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry also took oath under the PCO thrice.


He was addressing a press conference on Sunday. Kasuri claimed that there was a discomfort within the Pakistan army over the way the former dictator was being treated.

He told reporters that several army officers both retired and incumbent had met Mr Musharraf and condemned the excesses being committed to him.

The lawyer said that hostility was being meted out to Musharraf by the judiciary instead of the government.

“I have compiled a list of 150 judges who took oath under PCO,” he said and added that Nawaz Sharif was also among those who assisted those who subverted the Constitution. Kasuri said that Mr Sharif was spiritual son of former military dictator General Ziaul Haq.
