American actress Aubrey Plaza was last spotted six months ago on a hike with her husband Jeff Baena before his tragic passing.
The director was found unresponsive at his home by his assistant on Friday. Upon the arrival of the authorities, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The last time the couple had been spotted together was on July 5 as they went on a summer hike in Griffith Park, Los Angeles.
Both Plaza and Baena were immersed in conversation and appeared relaxed as they enjoyed a stroll at the popular park.
In statements released by the LA County Medical Examiner's Office, it was found that Baena had hanged himself at their place in Los Feliz.
About his passing, the Los Angeles Fire Department revealed, “Death was determined for an approximately 47-year old male, no transport. We responded to the 2100 block of Fern Dale Place for a death investigation. Officers responded for a male decedent.”
Aubrey Plaza and Jeff Baena tied the knot in 2020 in a secret ceremony, having been in a relationship since 2010.
The family of the screenwriter stated that they are “devastated” by the tragedy and requested privacy as they process the loss.
