Prince William thinks world's best minds have better things to do than space travel?

Prince William has some concerns about Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos focusing on space travel.

According to the Prince of Wales, world's brightest minds should be focused on solving Earth problems instead of space.

Speaking in an interview with BBC's Newscast in 2021, William said, “we need some of the world’s greatest brains and minds fixed on trying to repair this planet, not trying to find the next place to go and live.”

William went on to say at the time, “I think that ultimately is what sold it for me - that really is quite crucial to bee focusing on this [planet] rather than giving up and heading out into space to try and think of solutions for the future.”

Additionally, William also shared his concerns about the environmental impact of space tourism.

Emphasizing on the negative impact that commercial space travel could have on the environment, he said, “It's very unnerving and it's very, you know, anxiety-making.”

It is worth mentioning that Prince William has has been a strong advocate for environmental causes. He launched, Earthshot Prize, a global initiative to combal climate change and support sustainability in 2021.
