Jamie Lee Curtis recently reflected on a bold moment from her past when she went makeup-free and posed in her underwear for a magazine shoot more than two decades ago.

For the unversed, in 2002, the 66-year-old Oscar winner posed for the cover of More magazine without makeup, wearing only a sports bra and underwear.

Now speaking to People magazine, Curtis explained why she decided to do the photo shoot, saying, “I had fallen prey to unrealistic beauty standards,” and chose to do the shoot without any retouching.

Expanding on this, she added, “I said, ‘I will do it if you do a picture of me with no makeup, no clothes, no styling, no hair, nothing. And then you do me completely dressed up, fully made up, glammed out, and you tell how long it took, how much money it costs, and how many people it took to get me to look like that.”

The Freaky Friday star confessed that she wanted to show the "power of telling the truth" by doing this.

“I have been a vocal critic, and we'll go to my grave with it, that there is a cosmeceutical industrial complex telling women they are not enough without this bulls--- idea of face augmentation, fillers, injections, lifts, all of the glow-ups that these women are doing,” Curtis mentioned.

The film producer went on to state that everyone is “free to do whatever the f**** they want” with their appearance and concluded by hoping that people could feel just as empowered without touch-ups.
