Duchess Sophie's 'important' role in monarchy revealed amid King Charles new abdication plans

A royal expert has disclosed Duchess Sophie, who has stepped up to support King Charles and the Firm amid the monarch and Kate Middleton’s health concerns, key role in 2025.

Speaking to the Mirror, royal expert Jennie Bond has revealed Duchess Sophie’s important role ahead of her 60th birthday on January 20.

Jennie heaped praises on Sophie for her commitment to the crown, saying: "I’m so pleased that Sophie is now getting the recognition she so richly deserves.

"She’s been quietly working away, tackling difficult issues, for so many years - always happy to operate under the radar and without a fuss," the royal expert said.

Reflecting on Sophie’s major plans for 2025, the expert noted: "I think she will carry on with her challenging work, playing an important role in the firm.

"Her goals, I think, will be to see real progress in her various campaigns such as stopping violence against women in conflict and also helping the visually impaired at home and abroad."

Jennie Bond’s remarks about Sophie came weeks after the In Touch Weekly, citing the royal sources claimed, “The whispers that Charles is planning to step down are growing louder,” and the past few months have been “particularly rough.”

The insiders claimed, “Charles waited so long to become king, but at this point, no one could blame him for giving up the throne so he can live the last months of his life in peace.”
