A breakthrough has been reported in Liam Payne death case as hotel worker accused of supplying drugs to the singer has surrendered to police following a manhunt,
21-year-old Ezequiel David Pereyra tried negotiating his surrender through his lawyer after failing to comply with a judge's orders, a report by The Sun has revealed.
Pereyra was labelled a fugitive before he turned himself in in the high-profile case surrounding the death of the former One Direction band member.
According to the report, efforts were made by the police to arrest Pereyra at his home on the outskirts of Buenos Aires after obtaining an arrest warrant.
However, he was not at home at the time, prompting the police to search for him at his workplace and other places he was known to visit.
An insider told Argentinian news publication, “After Friday’s operation a place where police believed he was working and other residential addresses were put under surveillance and because of the pressure he did the right thing with help from his lawyer.”
Payne’s fans were left shocked after he passed away in a shocking incident in Argentina on October 16, 2024 after falling off from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires.
